The film took too long to set up the world and its characters. Overall, I felt like the pacing was distractingly off. I recognized that it was trying to reference past sci-films, but a lot of the creative decisions didn't make any sense to me. I didn't care for any of the characters (though Paul Rudd was the redeeming factor for me); a lot of the scenes seemed gratuitous purely for shock value.

Skarsgaard was good Liked leading lady. Like to see more of her. American GI villains too bloodthirsty and creepy. Too violent and sexually weird with children involved. Plot gory and not uplifting.

The only good thing about this film is the lighting.

The storyline was bumbling and uninteresting. The tone was incongruous. The main protagonist (Skarsgard) mainly just existed with many of his actions having no real effect until the ending which was not earned and the graphic violence out of place.
