It is a compelling look at what happens when we seek blind vengeance rather than justice. The entire cast was excellent. Jodie Foster and Benedict Cumberbatch are superb, as always. What made this film work so well though, is that Tahr Rahim matches them every step of the way. I honestly don't know why he's still a relative unknown. Shailene Woodley and Zachary Levi were nice surprises, and they both did an excellent job in roles that are completely different than their previous work.

Thought provoking and well done. A very disturbing period of our history. Excellent acting. But was there any justification for Gitmo? Since you really have no defense for the horrendous acts, I can't give the movie 5 stars because it really is 1-sided. Not saying its not the truth, just saying I would like POV of Rumsfeld, Obama, etc without vilifying them totally as this movie does. Respectfully submitted, Carole Harnoff

Actors were very good and the cast were excellent choices. They accurately depicted their real life characters. The movie seemed to depict in an accurate way the horrible conditions that existed at Guantanamo under the Bush Cheney Administration. Although the Obama Biden Administration continued to detain The Mauritanian and other detainees in a legal and political quagmire. It was an embarrassment on the USA legal system and the Department of Justice that so many detainees were never brought to justice and had their day in court. We enjoyed the ending with the real characters.
