too long; Kate Winslet was wrong/too old for her part; the police office was fantastic—an Academy Award performance for best supporting actor; others—mother and some townspeople were very good; nice filming

The casting was strange. Kate Winslet is an amazing actress - but the casting of Teddy and Gertrude was confusing - it took awhile to understand that they were meant to be classmates when they are so much younger than Kate.

The Dressmaker was a bit confusing. Kate is finally keeping her clothes on. Good for her.

Pretty heavy, sad and depressing.
