Felt a bit self important (a la Don’t Look Up), though I think some of the underlying commentary on the sociological culture in this country was thought provoking. I’m typically weary of films where the director (and in this case writer) is also the lead and typically find they lack some of the critical analysis/perspective that comes from multiple sources. My partner enjoyed it more than I did, specifically the Texas characters. To me, casting left quite a bit to be desired. Neither one of us enjoyed Ashton Kutcher’s character. But I’m still thinking about it, so that’s something!

I can only think of one person I would recommend a dialogue heavy movie to, but nevertheless, I'd recommend it.

Funny at moments, good start, promising, but flat at the end... Predictable.
