My husband and I truly enjoyed Michael; the history and music are timeless. Michael was a genius. Jaafar Jackson captures Michael’s look and personality perfectly. The film accurately depicts the difficult relationship with his father, who was responsible for many psychological struggles, including body dysmorphia, abuse, and isolation. However, much is omitted: Janet isn't mentioned, nor are his high-profile friendships with Elizabeth Taylor and Lisa Marie. Crucially, the film skips how medication for his head injury led to drug abuse and insomnia. Still, it's a powerful tribute.
