The beginning was a little rough, but once it got going and found its footing it was a ball of depravity and fun

Manfesting a director's cut. I think the movie is timely and inspiring. I thought the boldness was refreshing and very direct. The humor and camp was a delightful surprise. Going in I was unaware that Maggie Gyllenhaal also wrote the film. I appreciate it more knowing that it is her voice speaking throughout. The inclusion of Mary Shelley as a Narrator/Guide was an interesting choice that added an meta layer to The Bride that explains itself within the story. LOVED it. There are some small elements that stop this from being my favorite movie of the year, but the look, the acting, the story were all amazing.
