The musical numbers are infectious and moving. The cast, especially Olga Merediz and Anthony Ramos, is excellent. The storytelling bits at the beginning felt unnecessary and tacked on, and in general, the plot felt like it meandered and lacked real stakes. Still, the characters and the world sing. I'm recommending it to all my friends and family.

It’s a great adaptation of the musical. Has a strong balance between crowd-pleasing numbers and touching emotional moments.

In The Heights is a great movie! A little corny (but aren't all musicals, really?) but featuring funny, heartfelt performances with some spectacular direction and choreography :)\rI loved the more stylized parts with animation or exaggerated dance moves.

I didn’t love the changes as I’m a loyalist to the Broadway musical, but the choreography and the performers were great
