It's a joyful explosion of culture and color. A beautiful story about a rich culture and vibrant community and the perseverance of Hispanics in modern day America. The message is impowering, the characters are inspiring, and the music is uplifting. One of the movies few faults is that it showcases very few layers of Latina women, and many of the women play to the stereotypes often seen in films.

This movie is a stunning expression of passion and music with brilliant cinematography, beautiful songs and stories, with such heart. Anthony Ramos is a star in the making.

While I am not a fan of musicals, I very much enjoyed the movie (which might be a first for me and musicals). I wouldn’t personally initiate a meet up to go and see it but if I got invited by friends I would go again. I will for sure be telling my friends who like musicals to go and watch it at the theater.

I saw this on bway.The cinematography was gorgeous; hints of magical realism were a beautiful touch. The choreography & music were spectacular. The musical numbers MAKE this movie but I felt like there were periods that went for too long w/o a musical number & the dialogue makes the movie drag. Some of these scenes should be shortened or cut eg.Marc Anthony is great but his scene was unnecessary.
