I thought the pulp action sequences were really fun! I love the horror-comedy genre and is incredibly hard to do well… I thought Renfield did - for the most part - the genre well; with possibly a few missed opportunities and a few scattered scenes that could have blended the genres better and more seemlessly. Definitely a fun watch if you don’t mind ripping body parts and lots of blood. ;)

Deliriously over-the-top horror comedy, featuring one of Nicolas Cage's best no-holds-barred performances. Nicolas Hoult has great starring turn as Renfield. A romantic subplot is too slight to have much of an impact, but the action (which is frequently gruesome) keeps the pace up. The horror comes far more from shocks than scares, a fitting conceit given the movie is a hilarious genre satire.

I haven't laughed this much in a long time. If I had to make a comparison, I would call this "John Wick with a vampire boss". LOTS of mayhem and comic book style violence, but it a good way.

Renfield was a pretty good movie. It was definitely a different spin on the typical vampire movie. The mix of comedy and action was well balanced. I enjoyed the movie!
