While the cinematography and setting were wonderfully done, the changes in the story were terrible! Right from the beginning it seems Ridley Scott did not want to tell the story as it is in the Bible. Moses left for having killed an Egyptian, not because Hebrew spies ratted him out as a Hebrew and was not exiled. Pharoah died after Moses fled to Midian. And perhaps the worst part was having the bizarre events surrounding the burning bush and Moses speaking with God. Representing God as a young boy was at times creepy and disturbing in nature. Also, representing Moses as a combative prophet was disappointing as nothing in the bible supports this view. Also, the working of the miracles takes away the roles of Moses and Aaron. So many problems with the story telling that it greatly affected the ability to enjoy the movie. Oh, and what;s up with the Red Sea scene? The waters were divided by Moses hand and they passed on dry ground, but not in Ridley Scott's world. All the Egyptians died, but not in Scott's world. The water was a wall on both sides of them, but not in Scott's world. There was no pillar of fire or a cloud to lead the children of Israel. Absolutely a terrible movie unworthy of my money!

Most of the movie was far from what the bible says. Changing minor details is not what should be done in these movies. very poor in portraying God! Hollywood's way with how the plagues happened was disappointing. I walked out of there feeling sick!

It was not good and I really like Christian Bale (yeah I know but I do!) and it still wasn't good. I am also not tethered to the idea the movie has to be 100% accurate to Exodus, even with the title. It was just not good even with Ben Kingsley and Sigourny Weaver in the supporting cast. Even with it being a free screening, an IMAX picture, and the effects...still not good.
