I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this film. I find that theatre adaptations usually fall short when brought to the big screen, but In The Heights used the magic of cinema to enhance the presentation of this story and harkened back to classical film musicals in its dedication to form and detail - it was a delight from start to finish.

It was absolutely PHENOMENAL! In the Heights is captivating and immerses you in a world full of vibrance and joy and laughter and love. The scenes are lively and wonderful and truly sublime. The dialogue is very real and gutwrenching while at times being wholesome. The United States' current social and political state is addressed in a subtle manner that provides a big statement. Just wonderful!

The story is wonderful and beautiful. The cast is incredible. The mix of the music needs some work. There are many songs where the instruments over power the voices. I was confused why some songs were put in different spots or completely removed. Overall it's a beautiful story that is very moving and entertaining. Lots of Love for Doreen. <3
