It rises above mediocrity due mainly to McCarthy's comedic acumen. The dialogue is serviceable. The physical comedy is mostly successful, but I found my mileage varying with the jokes themselves. Themes of female empowerment and solidarity were welcome and refreshing. Gillian Jacobs puts in fine work. The film felt overlong by about 20 minutes with many scenes running far past their high marks.

Melissa as always was quite entertaining and the movie was touching in so many ways.

It had some funny parts to it and was enjoyable. The cast was good. Julie Bowens character could have used a little fine tuning was not great part.
