This is an excellent documentary which helps understanding the Holocaust. By providing the different perspectives and recollections of a Germans who lived through the era, the film confirms that history is only the stories which chose to tell ourselves.\r\rThese are very human people who, like all of us, want to think of themselves as "good people" and therefore filter their recollections to provide varying degrees of absolution or denial.\r\rYou want to like these people who often seem like anyone's grandparents. But there is too much complexity and contradiction to ignore. \r\rAn excellent film.

Sad and interesting how living participants recall/explain how they processed the events. Some look lost/ashamed of choices that were made/expected of them.
