I LOVE the Broadway musical version. I was confused at first why they decided not to include Nina's mom in this version. Also I didn't like the fact that they removed Abuela telling Usnavi that she won the lottery.

I loved the music, the dances, the photography, and the overall production. Something I think could've been better was the unfolding of the story. I definitely like the story and the characters, but I felt like the ending was a bit underwhelming. I didn't really felt a big evolution in the characters or the plot. Apart from that, I really enjoyed the movie and would highly recommend it!

Oh wow. Now I'm a big fan of In the Heights. It's on my list of shows I want to Stage Manage, and I have only seen a really poor production of it at CSU Northridge. But this movie was pretty good. At first, I was disappointed with the differences between the original musical and this movie, but I got over that. I was more impressed with how the movie took on adaptations of the times.
