The whole movie is great until the end, and until then I was thinking "is this my favorite movie of 2020?" But I'm not sure how Cassie martyring herself for the cause really works. I really love the movie up to the breaking point where she dies, but during that long death scene it feels like all the catharsis has been taken away from her, and it sort of feels cheap when they try to put it back at the end. Also to me she went out at night because she was trying to work through her personal demons to become a better person at the end. I have a lot more to say but I ran out of characters!

Great plot and acting. The editing was a bit choppy making the plot a little difficult to follow.

Promising Young Woman is a thrilling ride pieced together with finesse. The dark subject matter is paired with vibrant colours and an upbeat soundtrack. The smart writing is unexpected, executed with natural performances and bright cinematography. The story may not be for everyone, as it is quite triggering material, but it is an interesting instalment on the revenge genre that is wild and thought provoking
