Surprisingly good film that had me on the edge of my seat for the majority of the duration. Butler and Baccarin had a surprisingly good chemistry.

Routine disaster fare with a nice grim, dark look. This is a superbly acted movie, with gerard butler doing a great everyman stuck in peril performance, but it's Morena Baccarin who steals the movie and gives a heartbreaking yet strong performance. It moves a brisk pace towards a bombastic but suprisingly bittersweet yet uplifting final act. It may well be this generations deep impact.

Keeps you on your toes.
