A nice movie about a hearing child in a deaf family and her interest in singing - I thought that ultimately the plot was a little too expected, but it was just very well acted (Emlia Jones) and her singing was also just great, an unexpected.

Coda is a sweet take on the standard coming of age tale. The struggles of the lead and her family are portrayed in a moving and funny manner.

Great movie. CODA is a refreshing change of pace from the bang and emptiness we get served from Hollywood nowadays. It allowed me to peek inside the turmoils and challenges a deaf family face on a daily basis, and ultimately the rewarding bond they form as a result. The actors portraying the family are simply outstanding. CODA is proof you don't need special effects to make a memorable film.
