Oscar contender for best female in leading role

I liked it quite a lot! Very emotional and moving. The triumphant moments were great as well. I liked that they were able to insinuate some humor into the tale too.

Great movie. Good for families.

I give the film 3 1/2 stars out of five. The film gave life to the evolution of Minty Ross, who became Harriet Tubman. It includes some scenes demonstrating the brutality of slavery and the tricky circumstances of both free and enslaved African Americans. Her numerous trips freeing other slave was almost like some adventure films, including near captures and bad guys. Also the contrast with comparatively timid white and black abolitionists in the north was revealing.
