This depiction of the bible was interesting to say the least. There were no narratives of the actual scripturesize to validate this rendition. The rising of Jesus is known and RISEN gives a different perspective of becoming a believer. I felt this was more worthy of television than the big screen.

Movie was okay. It wasn't what I expected.

I enjoyed the film for the story but it probably isn't ready for the big screen. Some of the acting was very so-so(well most of the acting honestly). It reminded me of a tv show on the history channel. I think that for someone who didn't know the Jesus story, it was interesting but it left a ton of gaps. The opening was also hard to hear (I kept asking my boyfriend, "what did he say?" And who is that again?"). I also find it offensive that most if not all of the actors were white. Try harder!

As much as I enjoyed the unique approach to sharing this familiar story, I wasn't overly impressed. It seemed to move too slow for my preference and I wish it had more gravitating pull to my emotions or mite energy. Great story, just left me with an underwhelmed feeling.
