It had a lot of heart but failed to blend the comedy and drama in a way that didn't feel tone deaf. It was sweet, though.

The cast choices were spot on, but I had trouble connecting with the storyline. Without spoiling anything, more specifically, I couldn't connect with the father's storyline, it just didn't make sense. \rBut overall, the movie is a mixture of over-the-top comedy and tear-jerking drama. I think that's a difficult combination to accomplish. \rI'd still recommend it, the acting is great, the scenery is beautiful, just don't expect a 5-star storyline.

It's a cute movie. It's funny at times and emotional at times. A lot of the movie is not pieced together well and is far-fetched. For some reason, it had to have some brief scenes showing U.S. border patrol in a negative light. Overall, it's a light and enjoyable film.
