I thought the movie was very Jennifer Lopez-ish, with a similar story line and feel as her other movies (struggling New Yorker trying to better herself). There were certain parts of the movie that had unexpected twists or scenes that went in directions other than what I thought; however, I felt like the movie was very choppy and didn't dive as deep as it could have (especially into the main characters). I also thought the use of expletives by the kid were a little excessive.

If you are a die heart J-Lo fan you'll like it, but it slow in some parts. The relationship between her and her love interest was a bit of a stretch for me.

I loved Leah Remini. She was excellent in the film. I also liked that the romantic element was only a part of the film. I was confused about the whole adoption thing. It’s never clear how they found out that Jennifer Lopez was Vanessa Hudgen’s mom. Sure, the dad showed her the report, but wouldn’t they have found out the whole truth about Jennifer Lopez at that time?I love Milo Ventimiglia, but for some reason he felt miscast. Like he didn’t fit in somehow despite being an excellent actor.
