It is a fast moving film. Austin Butler gives a tour de force performance of the greatest entertainer the world has ever seen — ELVIS.

A high-energy, bombastic take on the life of Elvis. Although surface level in many aspects, Luhrmann doesn't shy away from the troubling and problematic aspects of "The King's" life. Elvis' whitewashing of Black music & culture is juxtaposed with the truth that Elvis was manipulated and controlled. As a celebration and critique of his legacy, I think this film is worthwhile and successful.
