BOOGIE, the film, told a compelling, well-acted story. The producers picked a stellar cast of talent and raw emotion. I loved the sound track which added to the mood of the film's story. I hope an Oscar or two consideration at some point or acknowledgment of this film's excellence. I would definitely see this film again.

I thought the movie did an excellent job on exposure of the asian race and the stereotypes behind playing basketball. I loved the female lead- representation is everything for me, so I enjoyed seeing someone that looks like me on the big screen. I was going to pay to go see this at the theaters so I am very grateful for the opportunity.

Beautifully shot, great casting, compelling story...and the last line brought tears to my eyes. Bravo!

This was a great movie! Even though it was short, the character development was nuanced and endearing. It was refreshing to see respresentation we rarely see in films: an asian basketball player, a black woman/asian man couple, an asian man fallen into crime, and a strained mother/son relationship in a two-parent household. The New York backdrop and darker overlay of the movie added grit, and the cinemotography was also phenomenal, that eye scene at the end was iconic. This was a feel-good sports movie, a bildingsroman and a romance wrapped into one unique film. The best I've seen of E. Huang.
