This type of movie is not for everyone. I don't think it appeals to non-gamers that much. I was disappointed in the movie. I had decided that I didn't want to watch it since it didn't seem like my kind of movie, but then I read a glowing review on facebook. The glowing review made me think I had misjudged the movie. I had not. This was a waste of my time.

If you loved this book, do not see the movie. Somehow Ernest Cline’s extremely clever and fun story was stripped of its creativity and replaced with generic gimmicks and cheap laughs.

Loud and impressive visual effects, but the script was cringeworthy and painful. It and the story felt like a high school student's creative writing assignment
