Movie starts with standard tropes of love interest, enlisting in the army etc., with a Forrest Gump like character. BUT then, blows your mind with brutal war sequences that give Saving Private Ryan a run for its money!

We enjoyed the movie, but were very unhappy that they requested that we turn in our phones before entering the theater. When we came out, they did not check the numbers they had given us, everyone simply grabbed their phones. We felt ours could have easily been stolen.

Impressive story...war is hard to watch

Enjoyed the movie and the story. The war scenes are brutal at times but Desmond was a hero saving so many injured soldiers. It was hard to realize how he could be at war without a weapon. He believed in his beliefs and nothing was going to stop him!
