The crowd-pleasing event of the year. In the Heights is a pure cinematic delight. I can’t wait to see it again!

Overall, a beautiful film. Ambitious, yet stayed true to the brilliant musical it was derived from. The beach into the shop transition at the end made me tear up, even though I did think the scenes with the children seemed to drag the story a bit. Each and every actor put their hearts and souls into their characters, and it was amazing to see the musical be brought to life for the big screen.

It was great for a movie musical! I will always love the original broadway version, but I think the movie did it justice

As a fan of the musical, I was not let down. \rThere were some sound issues – effects were sometimes exaggerated or there was complete silence. \rThe sequence of dancing during When the Sun Goes Down was jarring and took me out of the film. It was too magical and did not fit the song. \rI was also confused by the kids' relationship to Usnavi. It should have been a bigger and more obvious reveal.
