Coda is a coming-of-age film that is elevated by the family dynamics and bravura acting of Ruby (Jones). Honestly, I expected it to be a family drama but I'm quite surprised that it has injected elements of rom-com; to its own benefit. Regardless of its conventionality and at times calculated, it elicited authentic and heartfelt emotions.

This movie was the perfect recipe for a film. It has everything you want. Emotion. Love. Humor. Representation. This movie was wonderful from start to finish! Casting actual deaf actors in deaf roles was so wonderful to see! Loved it and already can't wait to watch it again!

When a drama uses real deaf actors to portray deaf people, it's uplifting.
