I had targeted this film for many weeks once I know the release schedule. I felt very uplifted by this films presentation and how it didn't shy away from the combination of the normal day to day life of Judea and Jeruselum contrasted with the mystical and the political machinations taking place in the background of the historical time period. The adherence to scripture was close though not exact but considering the point of view used it served the story well. I will promote this film as must see

Good movie! Strong intro with plenty of action; stuck pretty much to the true narrative; good acting. It did get bogged down and slow at some points. and the ending could have been stronger. Good movie for families and those of the Christian faith.

Risen was an entertaining, accessible movie bringing the story of the resurrection of Christ to a broader audience than the typical "faith-based" film consumer by injecting a good bit of humor and adventure, and a fresh perspective, to the narrative. Overall an enjoyable experience, which is a good thing for such a niche genre of film.

THIS IS NOTHING LIKE PASSION OF CHRIST. I WAS READY FOR A MOMENT WHERE I WOULD BE LEANED OUT OF MY CHAIR OR SQUIRM BACK INTO MY SEAT. HOWEVER, IT IS A GREAT MOVIE FOR ANYONE WHOSE JUST GETTING INTO THIS RELIGION. I SEE IT MORE AS A MOVIE A BIBLE PRACTICE OR PRIVATE SCHOOL WOULD TO SHOW STUDENTS OR NEW MEMBERS AS A TEACHING METHOD. IF YOU'RE ALREADY WELL VERSED IN THIS RELIGION THEN THE MOVIE IS ENTERTAINING. A LITTLE CHEESY ALMOST. BUT NOT A BAD MOVIE.
