Light and funny, yet painfully truthful about modern poverty. It was a message we needed to hear. My partner related a lot to Arj; they used to be a gig worker, slept in their car, and tried to donate plasma to survive at one point, and they felt this was accurate. Movies about poverty are usually depressing, yet Good Fortune was digestible, entertaining, sincere, and timely. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is Aziz Ansari and Sandra Oh seemed a bit stiff and unengaged in their roles. Otherwise, the cast and story was lovely.

I believe Good Fortune is one of those rare projects you come across and it addresses conflicts among today’s real- world society such as the rise in technological advancements and the unemployment rate. Although the film tackles real-world issues that are emotionally devasting, it makes you reflect on the importance of life, it’s impermanence and the value of human life as a gift which we should all be grafeful for.

Great family oriented comedy, a must see !!!!
