Well directed action scenes, but missed the boat on creating suspense before the action. Liked the father-daughter and father-son relationships & storyline related to these relationships. Betty Gilpin should have had more of an Alien Sigourney Weaver role and Been on the frontlines, or as mom, come back to fight the monsters with dad & daughter. JK Simmons, as always, was perfect. Chris Pratt needed better dialogue. The writing was predictable and filled with cliches. Good effects. Music was fine, but sometimes overwhelmed the scenes. Daughter (young & old) were good. Good climax.

Pretty predictable, but mindless, save the future story.

Sorry! Big yawn. Especially at over two hours! What happened to Chris Pratt? He used to have some charm. Could not have cared less about this movie. Sam Richardson as the lead role would've made it so much more interesting. He's kinda playing the sort of jolly smart guy Chris used to play. Oh and why do all aliens make the same clicking sounds?

All too common plot...
