Good movie, great nostalgic references, however many of them were lost on me!

The story line

I thought it was a good movie. It was a fun story line. I had never read the book, so I wasn’t comparing it to the book. Those that I talk to that had read the book said they still enjoyed the movie even though it was very different from the book.
