As a fan of the book, I thought the film deviated too much from the original story line. While I had trouble seeing past that fact, my wife who had never read the book really enjoyed the movie on its own.

Ready Player One is a fantastic romp through the nostalgia of the last thirty years. The settings are breathtaking and the characters are relatable. A good movie, though, not without it's problems. The opening scenes are a bit too in-your-face 3D (even when you are in a standard showing) and the frenetic pace of the first three quarters of the movie may longing for a respite from the assault.

Too many changes from the text, worth seeing if you're not able to remember large chunks of the book at a single go

Would not recommend fir everyone. This film is for a particular audience - gamers. I enjkyed some of it but it could have been shortened. The film homages were imoressive! I also liked the 3d ness of it at times without the glasses! This rating should allow1/2 stars
