Originals will always be better in style, plot, animation, etc. Original movie was great to watch as an adult and kids ranging from 12 and up. This movie is definitely for younger children. This is no way near Shrek style movies or Monsters Inc. I would only recommend this movie to parents who have kids 10 and under and if the parents need something to entertain the kids while they do the house cleaning.

Just what you might expect. Fast action, colorful characters, simple plot line.

A decent family movie. Entertaining and not too long. The monster character (Johnny) made it seem a little tv-ish and less like a movie.

It was a good movie especially to watch with kids. My kids loved it, the only problem I foresee with this type of screening, there was no way of air playing to my TV. We had to watch on my phone. We have a apple Jack to connect my phone to the TV and still did not work to televise on the screen. We watched the movie on my phone which was a little discomforting for a family of four to watch on a six inch screen. Might want to see for the next installment how you may correct this incident.
