Lightyear is an interesting idea, to build on the franchise of Toy Story. Though the film is not fully memorable, it does have its moments with a ragtag team, and a trusty companion as comic relief. There is a lot of action and it could use more heart, but it is still a quite satisfactory instalment that will grant more prequels to come.

Cinematography was great. The storyline was good EXCEPT I found it unnecessary to have the same sex kiss between Hawthorne and her partner, and it did not explain how/where they were able to have a child. . My 5 and 7 year olds had many questions after watching those parts of the movie which forced me to have a conversation with them about same sex couples and distracted them from the plot.

Plot not too bad. Children watching it enjoyed it well.

It was controversial but funny, entertaining for the family.
