I’m not by any means an expert on vikings, but it’s clear that the filmmakers meticulously researched the lifestyle and culture of this time period. The set design, costumes, and overall depiction of everyday life was mesmerizing and fascinating. I will absolutely be purchasing this Blu-Ray when it comes out in hopes of lots of behind the scenes and “making-of-the-film” content.

Less challenging and thought provoking than Eggers’s other movies. Probably his weakest movie, but it was still a great movie. No one does historical fiction like him.

Rapturous. It has Egger's DNA all over the film. It occasionally blends myth with reality that makes it feel otherworldly while it's still grounded. This also can be the films undoing when fact from myth gives a muddled experience. \r\rSkaarsgard is a badass, however as an audience we don't care about him. He's a vehicle for revenge with no heart. You could argue he cares for Olga but again at the climax this serves another selfish purpose of carrying his family's bloodline.

Very fun cinematic take on a fight for vengeance story. Wonderful performance by lead and supporting roles. A very strong masculine energy presented in this film in a way I haven’t seen in a while.
