Do not have to be a chess fan to enjoy this movie. A good character study of genius and madness. Good performance from Toby as Bobby Fisher. The build up of tension nicely coincides with what is going on politically with the United States foreign policy.

An interesting movie that demonstrates the paranoia between the Russians and the Americans during the cold war, Their Chess players demonstrated this during the chess matches!

Toby Maquire did a great performance playing the chess great Bobby Fisher. The story had a good flow but did not dwell on his later years.

Very interesting, even for a non chess fan. Perhaps a little slow during the matches, could have made them a bit shorter or added in flashbacks it something to break it up.
