The body of Yeshua, (Jesus Christ), is missing from the tomb after His crucifixion. Peter Firth plays Pilate, who is under pressure by the Pharisees to find the body in order to quelch the rumors of a risen Messiah. Joseph Fiennes stars as Clavius, the Military Tribune who is assigned the job of finding the body. Fiennes turns in a solid performance as the jaded military man. The movie missed the mark with the disciples, who looked more like smiling hippies than followers of Christ.

Great story! A non believer turned true through the power of grace and love! Absolutely mesmerizing tale.

Would have done better at Easter. A bit slow and a uneven at the end.

The film would have received a higher rating if they would have added some key elements of foreshadowing. For example showing the Pilot washing his hands of Jesus blood and making the outline on the sheet to show the image of Jesus more clearly defined would have provided the visual imagery needed to connect the events leading to the soldier seeking the truth. The characters' speaking lines needed more development especially in conveying their feelings and experiences.
