The movie made me want to check the facts against what was depicted.

To be honest, I was disappointed. Why would you take the greatest true story ever, and introduce fiction into it? To tell your story, from a largely untold perspective, there are some gaps that must be filled in. But why take the parts that are known from Scripture and change them — add your own twist in? Aside from this,, you really needed a different actor for the innkeeper at beginning and end. He was not believable, and he sets the tone, and is the last taste in mouth. Would not recommend.

Risen was good for what it was. I was a little mislead by the previews. Thought it would have more action. If I was a religious person I would have enjoyed it more. Thank you for having us.

I liked how Biblically accurate the movie was and as a Shroud of Turin 'believer' it was cool seeing it used in the movie. It was a different take on the Jesus story that was new and unique, but ultimately I didn't find it as compelling as I had hoped, partly due to how long and slow moving it was. I found myself fairly bored through much of it, the pacing really needed some work, but the last half hour was a good payoff for sitting through the rest of it.
