It was brilliantly acted, delightful and very laugh out loud funny. It really touched on the loneliness at the top and how a chance to latch on to a personal ally in the midst of egotistical power plays all around Queen Victoria her entire life. It was a true love story and her strength till the end was magnificent! Bravo!

Judi Dench reprised her role as Queen Victoria, bringing the character to life once again. I cried when she died. The actor playing Abdul was also perfect for the part. The movie was well-scripted with surprising humor and beautifully filmed at both British and Indian locations. My husband enjoyed it, too, and asked me to research the history of the story.
