I think the ending was AMAZING. Completely unexpected

Constant reader since early teens. The Long Walk is one of my favorite Stephen King books. I had a hard time shaking the book after finishing it and I'm having a similar experience after seeing the film. I was already a fan of Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, and Mark Hamill, but Judy Greer's performance was absolutely heartbreaking as Garraty's mother. Bravo! The book ends abruptly with a bleak ending which is memorable. It took me a second to decide if I liked the movie ending, but I can’t think of a better one this story is more about the journey anyway.
