It give you a better inside to what was happening back in those years. Our parents and grandparents don't care to speak much on the past. The film has you look at things from different view points.

It was well done. The cast in a whole was very good but, I was very impressed with Mary J Blige.

I thought the movie showed the audacity of white people and the anger felt by black people during that time. It also showed how the ecperience of serving in the military during war time can bond two different individuals. I appreciated that part about the movie because I'm living that military experience. I have friends for life because of our service together.
