Visual effects were amazing on par with Avatar especially at the beginning. I liked how the ending was not predictable. The villain was very cliche the racist nationalist Hitler like character. A little more depth to the villain would have been nice. Besides that the film was well acted Valerian was well casted and I like how Cara Devligne character is not just a damsel in distress. I give the film 4 stars out of 5 for the stunning visual effects and the different ending instead of the predictable good guy versus bad guy big fight at the end. This film reminded me of Star Trek Beyond, Avatar, and The Fifth Element of course.

I really enjoyed the movie. It has actions, humors, romance and loyalty. Ìt was a long movie but I was enjoying it so much, I didn't realize it. I only gave 4 stars out off 5 because of how they were either trying to get people to embrace transgender. The alien that portray the husband has a femail foce.

Valerian and the city of a thousand planets is a movie with great CGI. The concept is interesting and the imagery is quite beautiful. But the story line and the character development is shallow. I feel that the depth of the movie prevents one from getting emotionally invested enough to truly sympathize with the characters. Laureline (cara delevingne) was sarcastic and witty. Her character carried the movie and was entertaining to watch.
