Great coming of age story. Good insight into the family dynamics of millions of Americans living through their children. We all take for granted the wants and needs of our children as we want them to be and do better than we did at their age. We never stop to ask what they want rather than forcing our own beliefs (will) onto them.

It was a good movie overall. I wish it had a different ending though.

Good storyline, I like the underdog from a poor background and goals of trying to go to college on a full scholarship. Terrible that Melvin forced Boogie's hand to sign the contract. I thought in one part during the fight she mentioned Melvin was too white washed that maybe Boogie wrote in Chinese on the contract beef and broccoli but it appears he actually signed it. Also, didn't really care for the bedroom scene, made it awkward to watch and unnecessary. There was a part after the final game that it appeared the 2 guys were going to hurt/shoot him or something, glad they didn't.
