It was excellent. Toby Maguire was so good in the lead role. It's hard to believe people would be tense to watch people play chess (especially since many of the people watching knew the game moves of the real game) but they were tense. My son (14) plays chess and he really enjoyed the movie.

Fantastic movie. I don't play chess but you don't have to play to understand the movie. It's not really about chess - it's about the struggles of someone with a mental illness. This movie was well produced. You would think it would be slow - like the game of chess - but I never found myself wanting it to be over.
