Thrilling action packed

It was entertaining!

The thing is, I don't think it was made that well. The plot is very basic, as are most of the supporting characters. But it was entertaining.

It's a very mediocre action film with some hints of a better movie inside. I think it was wrong to try to add so much to the first act of this movie and go for a more blatant "hero's journey" route with the story. As it stands it takes way too long to get to the interesting stuff (the island). Should have taken a hard-R survivalist approach because the movie feels rather neutered at PG-13.
