We really enjoyed the film. It's a really good adventure film with lots of action and good building of the characters. However near the end it seemed to drag on a little more then it should have. Also loved how they worked the ending with the beginning of Lord of the Rings.

Actually 4.5. Despite the decision to include non-canon storylines and characters, this movie is an excellent capstone to the trilogy. Also, I enjoyed the addition of Tauriel, and found her character very likeable. The action scenes are wonderfully choreographed, if sometimes a bit too graceful. Definitely worth seeing!

Cinematography was brilliant. Movie was action packed.

Excellent movie and technological makeup. 3D really enhanced the production. Surprise action and unexpected deaths added great twists to this plot and character development.
