Excellent story and message. Slow to start and script lacked character development but Okinawa scenes were riveting.

The story was poignant and well presented. The acting was very good. The battle scenes and special effects were over the top. I closed my eyes through most of the fighting scenes - they were too bloody and gruesome for me.

Great story. Very graphic. It's one of those movies that leave you kind of shaken. There aren't many that can do that. American Sniper was one, Saving Private Ryan, and Mel Gibson's Passion of the Christ. That's how this movie felt. Very emotional, disturbing, yet it was done well. Grateful for have been given the chance to see it! My husbjoi enjoyed it as well.

Great story! Finally a Christian who was portrayed well. A little too much gore for me but I know it was realistic of war.
