Endearing. The pace of the movie won't bother you if you can appreciate reading human emotion on actor's faces. People clapped after it was done. You can't help but feel affection for Maudie.

Touching movie!

Fine acting especially from Sally Hawkins in title role and some very good cinematography highlight this interesting biopic of Maritime female artist Maude Lewis set in Nova Scotiabut filmed in Newfoundland with fine supportby Ethan Hawke. Quiet but intelligent filmnow out after Fall film festival exposure.

Both my friend and I really loved the film. We found it such a heartwarming beautiful story, with some wonderful messages about life and happiness. Great acting, fabulous scenery, and very realistic. I love that it's based on a true story in Atlantic Canada. We were not familiar with the art of Maud Lewis before now and I really love it. i would love to see the original painted house.
