Under all the overwrought stylization, melodramatic music cues and camera angles, cutaways to unnecessary vignettes, there is actually a good and compelling story here. Unfortunately, all the salad dressing was a constant distraction from the real movie. The performances were solid, the story was on point, it held my interest, but it was a labored watch. This film was lost in the editing room.
