I'm not big into musical films but THIS WAS A JOY! Perfect first film to see during covid times; exuberant, joyful but still REAL. TWO THUMBS AND 5 STARS!

Phenomenal display of storytelling, culture, and joy through the lens of people feeling and seeing the effects of gentrification.

It was a very entertaining film with the combination of acting, dancing and singing. The storyline took you into the lives of a tight nit community that showed you, by sticking together and supporting one another, you could overcome adversities.It was realistic and easy to relate too. Despite not being a big fan of rap music, the implementation of its use was masterful.

We loved it! It was so exhilarating, especially because it was our first time back at the movies in so long!
